A Different Approach To Cosmology Book Review

Cosmology, the scientific study of the origin, evolution and fate of our Universe, has undergone a revolution in the past century, Much of this revolution has centred upon what we know as the Big Bang theory, which asserts that the cosmos was created in a stupendously energetic explosion at a finite time in the past.

While much observational evidence supports this contention, a small minority of theorists simply don’t buy the Big Bang idea. Prominent among the dissenters are those that adhere to the so-called Steady State theory, originally formulated in the 1940s by Herman Bondi, Thomas Gold and Fred Hoyle, in which they asserted that a Big Bang never took place, but rather the Universe has always existed and experiences repeated bouts of matter-creation.

The book A Different Approach To Cosmology summaries cosmological research in light of the original steady-state theory.
